Lead Coach will further develop “Collaborative Site” for sharing resources across sectors and will help MENTORS manage the administration of the site http://mrhstellam.wikispaces.com/ and possibly a School Blog
Lead Coach will be responsible with school leadership to identify Mentor Team members and provide Professional Learning to develop the “Virtual Cloud” for their area and the tools required to manage it and how it will fit into existing portal structures leading toward ICON transition and Ultranet spaces.
This team can be responsible to run the Action Research:
  • Survey In-service/pre-service teachers Web 2.0 capabilities and usage – pre and post project
  • Survey student Web 2.0 capabilities, usage and safety knowledge - pre and post project
  • Audit the current inquiry planner and identify Web 2.0 tools that are suitable as a generic inclusion into regular planning eg. Bubbl.us as a concept/thinking tool.
  • Plan with staff to embed Web 2.0 tools that fit the Inquiry Foci and gather resources – these are uploaded as digital kits for all parties to interact with to move through the inquiry process
  • Prepare the school Cyber Safety protocol including superclubsplus.com.au (middle school)registration and uploading of cyber safety media project resources for the senior school to initiate at start of school year involving a rich digital investigation of Web 2.0 tools and safety protocols. This is published on the “cloud” with agreed cyber rules.
  • Upload the results onto the “cloud space”
  • Work with leadership to modify planning tools to embed 21st Century technologies
  • Professionally develop staff in embedding and understanding use of Web 2.0 tools in inquiry
  • Training resources provision in “cloud” eg. Whiteboard support.
On going support
Lead Coach and Mentor Coaches are placed in the class during set days, coaching the grades with teachers in the process of inquiry using the tools and resources developed in the “cloud”.
Lead Coach provides some after/before school professional learning supporting Web 2.0 training, blog development, implementing the project unit and needs that arise on that site. Also provides school negotiated training afternoons.
Key Personnel
  • Lead Coach – Expert Team Training – 2-3 afternoons a term.
  • 3 Mentor Coaches – support mentor placed in classrooms for coaching days placed in the grades team teaching embedded unit.
  • Staff – coached as part of day programs and after school professional learning and supported by Mentor Team
  • Staff and Students – participate in online learning possibilities using a variety of Web 2.0 tools, maintain Web 2.0 diary/portfolio of registered accounts and how used.
